These outcomes matter in Idaho because agricultural and timber counties rely on stable school enrollment to retain state per-pupil funding. Loss of students to behavioral health transfers or homeschooling accelerates district consolidation, which state records show occurred in 14 counties between 2015 and 2023. Districts that sustain attendance through targeted interventions avoid further loss of transportation and Title I allocations.

Implementation requires delivery during the existing school day using certified teachers who complete a 12-hour state-approved mindfulness facilitation module.
